Training Activities

A structured program of training activities has been designed in alignment with the educational objectives of the PhD in Chemical Sciences and the expected cultural and professional profiles of its graduates. The program includes a total of 20 ECTS credits (10 ECTS per year during the first two years), covering disciplines within the various Scientific Disciplinary Sectors (SSD) represented in the PhD program. These courses are specifically aimed at fostering the interdisciplinary training of PhD students. Further training activities—inter-, multi- and trans-disciplinary in nature—will include the enhancement of IT and language skills, as well as instruction in research management and in the understanding of European and international research systems. Particular emphasis will also be placed on the valorization and dissemination of research results, intellectual property, and open access to research data and outputs. The training program will also feature seminars delivered by highly qualified Italian and international scholars and experts from academia, research institutions, industry, and cultural and social organizations.

Within the framework of collective activities, opportunities for exchange and dissemination of research results will be provided through participation in national and international conferences, workshops, and doctoral schools. A total of 30 ECTS credits will be allocated to these complementary activities over the three years of the PhD program.
