Great attention is given to internationalization and mobility programs for faculty members. In recent years, the PhD in Chemical Sciences has hosted several visiting professors or researchers from both foreign and Italian universities, particularly through the COST Action CA18202 – NECTAR, Network for Equilibria and Chemical Thermodynamics Advanced Research. Within the framework of the Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement, foreign professors have been invited to give seminars, and members of the local PhD board have carried out similar activities abroad. Moreover, members of our board have also been visiting professors or researchers at foreign universities.

In line with the ever-growing need for internationalization and intercultural exchange with both Italian and foreign universities, our board has always strongly recommended PhD students to undertake a research period of at least three months at other Italian universities, and even more so at foreign universities. This recommendation is generally embraced by most of our PhD students, who have spent semester- or year-long periods abroad at foreign universities (both European and non-European). Additionally, thanks to the Erasmus+ project and Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) – KA107, many PhD students from European universities (Brussels, Jena, Bourgogne) and Mediterranean countries (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, etc.) have carried out research periods at our laboratories.

Currently, the PhD in Chemical Sciences does not award double, multiple, or joint degrees with other universities. In the design of the next cycle, the board is strongly oriented toward establishing agreements with European or non-EU universities for double or triple degree programs.
